A Safe Space to Heal, Connect and Grow

Welcome to a Space for Healing and Growth

Julie Mathews is a trauma, informed therapist who offers a grounded, compassionate space to explore what matters most to you. With a deep respect for the mind–body connection, she supports clients navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic stress, perfectionism, and relationship struggles.

Clients often come to her feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves and others, but they leave sessions feeling seen, empowered, and more aligned with their inner strength.

Her background includes training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Core Self Reclamation Therapy, Lifespan Integration, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. She brings warmth, insight, and humor into the therapy space, meeting clients where they are, not where they think they ‘should’ be.

welcome!

I am Julie Mathews, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Behind every therapy session is a real connection and that starts with trust. I offer a calming, grounded presence where you can unpack what’s heavy, explore what’s possible, and feel supported every step of the way. My approach to therapy is collaborative and deeply human rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that healing doesn’t mean fixing what’s broken, but rediscovering the strength that’s already there.

My Approach & Why I Do This Work

From a young age, I’ve had a desire to understand people, what makes us hurt, what helps us heal, and how we grow into who we are meant to be. That calling eventually led me to become a therapist, a role that allows me to walk alongside others as they navigate the complexities of life, relationships, and inner struggles. Being an LMFT allows me to witness change, resilience, and hope in real time, and I consider that a privilege.

What draws me most to this work is my own humanity. Like anyone, I’ve had moments of doubt, fear, and emotional pain. I carry my own wounded parts, and it’s through doing my own healing that I’ve developed deep empathy and compassion for others. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed or stuck, and I bring that understanding into every session, not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who gets it.

My style as a therapist is warm, down-to-earth, and gently curious. I believe that healing happens in the presence of genuineness, safety, and even a little humor. While the work we do together can be deep and vulnerable, it can also feel light, human, and hopeful. I aim to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and never judged.

Above all, I care deeply about my clients, the therapeutic process, and the responsibility I hold in walking beside you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, or self-doubt, I’m here to help you make sense of it all and move toward the life you want. You don’t have to do it alone.

“Healing happens in the presence of genuineness, safety, and even a little humor.”

The Power of Connection

Human connection holds transformative power—it is the foundation of emotional well-being, resilience, and healing. Through genuine relationships, we feel seen, heard, and valued, which affirms our sense of belonging and identity. In moments of struggle, connection offers comfort and strength; in times of growth, it inspires and supports. Whether through family, friendship, or therapeutic bonds, authentic connection nurtures trust, empathy, and the capacity for change. At its core, human connection reminds us that we are not alone and that healing often begins in relationship.

What Guides My Practice

Mission

I provide compassionate, client-centered therapy that nurtures emotional healing, strengthens relationships, and honors the spiritual dimensions of human experience in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Vision

Therapy can be a sanctuary where individuals, couples, and families find healing, connection, and renewal. I foster wholeness and resilience through therapeutic care grounded in empathy, integrity, and safety.

Values

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients are supported with compassion, respect, and confidentiality. Guided by ethical integrity, we can create a meaningful relationship guided by holistic care of the mind, body, and spirit.

What It’s Like to Work Together

In our work together, I offer a therapeutic partnership rooted in trust, curiosity, and mutual respect. I believe healing unfolds most fully in a space where all parts of you are welcome, where your pain can be honored, your resilience recognized, and your story held with care. I believe in a holistic process that invites the mind, body, and spirit into alignment, working not just with symptoms, but with the deeper patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others.

Together, we explore the layers of your experience: the protective strategies you’ve developed, the younger parts of you that carry unresolved pain, and the strengths you’ve cultivated along the way. These inner parts are not problems to be fixed, but aspects of you that deserve compassion, connection, and understanding. As we build trust within this internal system, a more integrated and grounded sense of self naturally begins to emerge.

Much of our healing involves reclaiming our core selves–connection, courage, curiosity, creativity, compassion, clarity, and playfulness. We work gently with past experiences, not to relive them, but to resolve their lingering effects. This often includes helping your nervous system recognize what is no longer happening, allowing the past to settle into memory instead of continuing to shape your present.

For couples, I support both partners in creating a more secure emotional connection by uncovering the deeper needs and fears beneath reactive patterns. Together, we focus on strengthening your bond, improving communication, and restoring the trust and emotional safety that sustain lasting intimacy. Even in moments of disconnection, there is always a pathway back to each other.

Empathy and understanding are at the center of my work. I listen not only to your words, but to the meaning and emotion beneath them. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we create space for your growth to unfold at its own pace. Whether you’re seeking clarity, connection, or healing, my role is to walk beside you, not as an expert on your life, but as a supportive and engaged presence committed to your transformation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Each session is shaped by what you bring in—and what you need that day. Some weeks might feel reflective and tender. Others might feel empowering or full of insight.

Together, we’ll explore what’s been holding you back and gently move toward what’s possible. You set the pace. You lead the way. I am here to walk beside you.
